Your eye is on the sparrow
And Your hand, it comforts me
From the ends of the Earth to the depth of my heart
Let Your mercy and strength be seen

You call me to Your purpose
As angels understand
For Your glory, may You draw all men
As Your love and grace demand

And I will run to You
To Your words of truth
Not by might, not by power
But by the spirit of God
Yes I will run the race
'Till I see Your face
Oh let me live in the glory of Your grace

This reminds me of the bible study topic today of being filled with the spirit.

This morning during Business Comm, Mrs Jean Yeo showed us this inspiring song on youtube which I would like to share with you guys! When You Believe by Leon Jackson. Sorry I can't get the video up here. But you can see the video by clicking HERE. Lyrics provided below. Let the lyrics speak to you! =)

Many nights we pray
With no proof anyone could hear
In our heart's a hopeful song
We barely understood
Now we are not afraid
Although we know there's much to fear
We were moving mountains long before we knew we could

There can be miracles, when you believe
Though hope frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe
Somehow you will…
You will when you believe

Easy to despair,
When all you hear is fear and lies
Easy just to run and hide,
Too frightened to begin
But if we dare to dare
Don't wait for answers from the skies
Each of us can look inside
And hear this song within

There can be miracles, when you believe
Though hope frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe
Somehow you will…
You will when you believe

They don't always happen when you ask
And it's easy to give in to your fear
But when you're blinded by your faith
Can't see your way clear through the rain
A small but still resilient voice,
Says hope is very near

(There can be miracles, when you believe)
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe
Somehow you will…
(Now you will)
And now you will
You will when you believe

You will when you believe

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Countdown party 2007 was so fun! Counting down with church friends at Aloha Changi. Got to know more about people and their life. So yea! was great. Had a great time playing board games such as settlers and saboteur. Was so fun! I really love the accompaniment of church friends. Fellowship was great too. I met Jared at Novena Square to go to the chalet together. He bought 3 watermelons and i carried 2. We took a train from Novena all the way to Pasir Ris and then realised that the bus to the chalet is at Tampines, Nevertheless, we took bus 89 to Changi Village. Not sure of what bus to take, we decided to take a cab down. We finally reached the place but i was thinking of another place, so we walked one big round and ended up at Changi Sailing Club. We then decided to call Eugene and James to find out more and then went to a busstop nearby to take bus 29 (the bus from tampines) to the chalet. Thank God for Moses who waited for us at the busstop. We finally reached at about 5.30pm. Rest awhile and joined the others who were there for a game of Saboteur. Ended at around 6.30pm. Then I led worship, it was my second time leading worship, I was ultimately nervous but praise be to God, He led me throughout as I led. It was a very good experience for me too and I truly thank God for that. After that, some of them went to barbeque while the rest continued on our games - mahjong, saboteur, and other board games. The following songs were the songs I led in worship at the chalet.

Redeemer, Saviour, Friend

VERSE 1:
I know You had me on your mind
When You climbed up on that hill
For You saw me with eternal eyes
While I was yet in sin
Redeemer Savior Friend

VERSE 2:
Every stripe upon Your battered back
Every thorn that pierced Your brow
Every nail drove deep through guiltless hands
Said that Your love knows no end
Redeemer Savior Friend

CHORUS:
Redeemer, redeem my heart again
Savior, shelter me from sin
You're familiar with my weaknesses
Devoted to the end
Redeemer Savior Friend

VERSE 3:
So the grace you poured out on my life
Will return to You in praise
I'll gladly lay down all my crowns
For the name of which I'm saved
Redeemer Savior Friend

Worthy Is The Lamb

VERSE 1

Thank You for the cross Lord

Thank You for the price You paid

Bearing all my sin and shame

In love You came

And gave amazing grace

VERSE 2

Thank You for this love Lord

Thank You for the nail pierced hands

Washed me in Your cleansing flow

Now all I know

Your forgiveness and embrace

CHORUS

Worthy is the Lamb

Seated on the throne

Crown You now with many crowns

You reign victorious

High and lifted up

Jesus Son of God

The Darling of heaven crucified

Worthy is the Lamb

Worthy is the Lamb

What a Faithful God Have I

VERSE 1

Lord, I come before Your throne of grace

I find rest in Your Presence,

And Fullness of Joy

In Worship and Wonder,

I behold Your face

Singing what a faithful God have I

CHORUS

What a faithful God have I

What a faithful God

What a faithful God have I

Faithful in every way

VERSE 2

Lord of mercy, You have heard my cry

Through the storm You’re the beacon

My song in the night

In the shelter of Your wings

Hear my heart’s reply,

Singing what a faithful God have I

VERSE 3

Lord all sovereign

Granting peace from heaven

Let me comfort those who suffer

With the comfort You have Given

I will tell of Your great love

For as long as I live

Singing what a faithful God have I

I Extol You

VERSE

Prince of Peace, Counselor,

Merciful, Son of God.

Lord of Host, Conqueror,

Coming King and everliving God.

CHORUS

I extol You,

Lord I extol You,

You are high above the earth,

All creation shouts Your worth.

I extol You,

Lord I extol You,

My Jehovah, I extol You.

We had a fun time of eating and bonding. Then we continued on our games until about 11.51pm, we stopped and Lay Siang said this thing that was quite amusing, 'We'll play again next year.' haha. We then went down and joined the others and our neighbours (other people who were from other units). Some YF-ers went to buy sparklers so I lighted up our sparklers and awaited for the New Year. Counting down was so fun! And then the snapping of pictures began. After which, Christine brought Wii and connected it there some of them started to play Tennis with it. I think they were Eliza, Ethel, Jared and Shangjun I think. I joined in later but then after 2 rounds, went with Daniel & his friend, Joshua & his gf, Jeremy and his gf, Moses, and Dennis & his gf to the prata shop near by for supper. I didn't order anything since I was quite full and satisfied with the BBQ. We talked about some stuffs there. There's a pub beside the prata shop filled with caucasians and it's blasting out disco songs. So Joshua and the others were like singing the songs and someone dared Daniel to go on the table to dance the YMCA dance when the music played but it didn't. So sad. haha. Anyway, on the way there, Daniel asked me what's my expectations and feelings about going to CG this year. I told him that I expect more in-depth studies on the word of God (the bible). And also told him that I am more comfortable to be in James' CG, since I know most of the people quite well there. He also asked me to be Logistics IC for church camp this year since I'm uite familiar and comfortable with this role. Praise God. And so we went back to the chalet. Then I went to one of the rooms to play Settlers with Eugene, Desmond, Neng Yang, Esther, Jie Hui and David. It was fun but we played for very long. Then it finally ended with Esther being the winner with 9 points and some others including me got 8 points. 1 of my points came from the development card, so that was actually quite lucky. Haha. Then my butt and legs were quite painful so went for a stretch and ended up playing Mahjong with Belinda, James Ang and someone whom I can't remember who. Then I was also quite lucky. But Belinda also, has got lots of skills too. I played till around 3am when James Ang got to go home to rest cos Michael (James's bro-law) 's mum was hospitalised and so he got to go visit her in the hospital. After which, Belinda and I joined the other table who was playing Saboteur, They were Shangwei, Andre, Andrew, Li Wei, Hui Jun, Wei Wei, Richard, Sharon, and some others. It was quite fun. Then after that, some of us wanted to watch the sun rise since we were near the beach, so we went. Met Eliza, Ethel, Jared, Li Wei, Lucius, Elroi and Paul there. I was with Sharon, Hui Jun, Wei Wei and Neng Yang. I was walking towards the other group when I almost stepped on Eliza, who was sleeping on the ground 1 step away, thank God in the nick of time, Neng Yang shouted to say 'Be careful!'. Haha. So later, we just sat there to chat, joked, and waited for the sun rise. But the sky around 6.30am to 7am was quite dense with clouds and so we gave up waiting. We went back to the chalet and I went to sleep in the living room on the sofa. Started to feel the tireness. So I slept awhile. We packed up by 9.30am and was prepared to leave the chalet when Lay Siang found out that they booked the chalet for 4 days instead of 3, that means we got to stay in for another day but most of the people are working or starting school the next day so we just checked out. Then Lay Siang, Desmond, David, Hui Jun, Jie Hui, Neng Yang and Wei Wei took the shuttle bus to White Sands Mall at Pasir Ris for breakfast at Mcdonalds but Wei Wei went home first. We ordered our food, said grace had our breakfast, chatted awhile, then went back. Reached home around 11.30am to 12pm. Went to shower and then ate and slept till evening when my parents decided to go Sentosa. And so I went along too. Watched the 4D Magix, Luge ride & chair lift, Underwater world, then went for dinner at the Hawker Centre at Harbourfront. Then took a bus back home. That was all. Today was quite wasted, slept till 3pm. Haha. Hope tomorrow is a better day! Alright! Gna go grandma house. Cya guys and stay tuned! =) God bless!

for everyone
hello peeps! you guys must haven given up on my blog! haha. been for such a long rest from blogging and i think it's time for an update now. This December is a busy month, but all glory to God, with mission trip, christmas event and even Metamorphosis that passed, I thank God for every single event that I was and will be involved in that He has placed me in. I think I have grown alot through all these events.

I went for a mission trip to Cebu, Philippines from 13th to 19th December 2007. Just 2 weeks ago. I really thank God for clearing the path to allow me to go for this trip. In the beginning, my parents did not allow me to go for this mission trip because they are non-christians and did not see the importance of mission, secondly, due to the Manila political unrest. But as I mentioned, Jehovah Jireh our provider, God has indeed done so much that I can go to expose myself since this is my first mission trip. My heart really goes out to the children we ministered to and the people we saw there. The first day upon arrival, our group of
18 youths were picked up by OM Phil at the airport to IRC, Institute of Religion and Culture, for rest. And after lunch in the early afternoon, the group were split into 2. 1 went to shop for all the things we need for our trip - the goodie bags for the children during the Christmas parties and also some necessities. The other went for the catholic church visit. I was part of the 2nd group who went for the excursion. We went to 1 church and then head off to the Magellan Cross nearby. During this trip, it saddened me to see so many people who are so faithful and religious YET believing in the wrong things. There were many statues of 'saints' in the church. On different 'saints' were different description of what they can do, for eample one that says that they can heal and the other that says that that 'saint' can bring peace. People will just go in front of the 'saint', touch any part of the statue and then pray to it. Many even queued up to go into a little room that houses the 'saint' of Jesus. To think that Catholics read the bible too. Just by looking at The Ten Commandments, Catholicism is contradicted. The very first commandment reads, 'You shall have no other gods before Me.' Only looking at the first and the most important commandment, we can prove that Catholicism is wrong. With all the saints that would be more appropriate if we name them idols. And that links to the second commandment that says,''You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God,...........'' If you are a catholic reading this entry currently, I would like to invite you to re-examine your faith and if you have any questions, please feel free to visit this website. www.EveryStudent.com. There were also other things in this mission trip that strucked me, looking at how poor and needy the people are, it got me thinking that how blessed I am to grow up in a country near developed and a family well knited. And that I shouldn't complain too much on my life because when I am given so much and still complain, then what about the people in Philippines or any other third-world countries?

After the mission trip, on the 22nd of December, some of my church members and I went to Khalsa prison in Woodlands to minister to the inmates by singing Christmas carols to them. It was my first time going into a prison and some how, this sense of fear got onto me, though I know that there are locks all over. But I put my trust in Christ Jesus my Lord and acknowledge that everything I do, the glory goes to Him who sent me. Everything turned out to be fine and the response from the inmates were terrific! They were very happy that we went to sing to them, they cheered, clapped along and even sing with us. The only thing we prayed for is for God to speak to them through the carols that they may come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as their Lord and Saviour.

Just 4 hours ago, I came home from Metamorphosis in Faith Methodist Church. This year's Meta was quite different from previous years, it was a three-day conference instead of five-day. It wasn't a stay-over one also. But I feel that God is glorified no matter what. The sermon was greattt, the worship was awesome and the speaker were simply fantastic and most importantly the presence of God is overflowing through the entire conference! Through this conference, I have learnt of forgiving unconditionally and also about running this race/ Christian journey together with other brothers and sisters-in-Christ, running light with burdens all throw off and lastly to run with the end in mind. Runners run with the finish line in mind, to complete the race by fixing our eyes on Jesus. Based on Hebrew 12:1-3, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Even Jesus ran the race that the Father set for Him. we can consider Him when we are weary. In conclusion, we have to run our own race that is marked out for us. And it also says that Metamorphosis is actually a refueling point, that we are re-energized to continue the journey ahead. Although this year, I did not really have so much a conviction in my heart as compared to the previous year, I feel that I've grown deeper in the love and the knowledge of my God, and I pray that God will continue to speak to me through His word, the bible, and also to speak through constant intercessory prayers to reveal His plans for me in my life. And I pray that through this conference, I will be transformed and renewed as days go by, I'll be able to see the transformation that God has worked in me. For now, I just want to give thanks and praise to the Lord my God for seeing me through this year of 2007, for blessing me so much and guiding me as I seek to serv Him better and know Him more.

One of my church friends, Mingdao, actually came up with this website, www.biblein2008.com. It is to read the entire bible in the year of 2008. So if you're reading this entry now, I invite you to join us as we go onto this journey of faith together, exploring God's word and the truth together, by reading the most-read and top-seller book in the world!  Cheers as we await the arrival of the new year, give thanks and praise to God for this year that is passing off into history soon.

Cheers!

My Heart Is Filled
Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

My heart is filled with thankfulness
To Him who bore my pain
Who plumbed the depths of my disgrace
And gave me life again
Who crushed my curse of sinfulness
And clothed me in His light
And wrote His law of righteousness
With power upon my heart

My heart is filled with thankfulness
To Him who walks beside
Who floods my weaknesses and strengths
And causes fear to fly
Whose every promise is enough
For every step I take
Sustaining me with arms of love
And crowning me with grace

My heart is filled with thankfulness
To Him who reigns above;
Whose wisdom is my perfect peace;
Whose every thought is love.
For every day I have on earth
Is given by then King.
So I will give my life, my all,
To love and follow Him.

HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY SUNNY!!

hah. Today is my birthday but I didn't feel as happy as I felt the previous years. I feel a little old and unaccomplished. I feel as if one year's wasted. But then again, I believe that God placed me in this situation for a reason, so that I can glorify His name through various ways. I believe that when God is with me, I need not fear anything. But I can't get cocky. heh. Anyways, I just returned from Malacca, went there for a family holiday. Went for Church Camp last week in Kuala Lumpur too! Let's talk about church camp first.

Church camp was super super fun. It was my first time attending the combined church camp which includes the english, mandarin and foochow congregations and even the young little kids. I like to go for such camps. It is in these camps that I can really openly seek God. I'm from a non-Christian family, that explains the reason. So I really enjoyed myself, not just the fun and the fellowship but also the JOY to seek and see God openly without persecution. I thank God for that. And also thank God for Auntie Dorothy for sponsoring me for the camp. I'm super grateful. Praise God.

Next up, Malacca was not as fun as expected. It was a 2 days 1 night thingy. We went staying at Tiara Beach Resort. I rate the apartment, which means the place that we stayed in for the night as 1 out of 5 stars. Very bad. When we opened the door of the apartment that we are allocated, we were greeted with lots of houseflies! And they accompanied us for the night. Very disgusting. And the complimentary drinks they gave us were 4 packets of instant Cocoa. The taste really sucks like no one's business. ok enough of the rooms, now the rating i gve for the 'beach'. The beach is actually an artificial beach with sand surrounding the entire theme  park. And the water is like swimming pool water. Anyway, if i compare the this themepark with Wild Wild Wet, the ratio of Wild Wild Wet and the tiara beach theme park is 5:1.
So never ever go there next time!! OH YA. And the place is so SO so SO sSo so ULU (malay word for deserted). Yep! so that's my holiday! haha. =)

Actually I really want to go for prayer meeting on saturday, and now I really realised that I should go church rather than go for the holiday. But it's alright la. =)

Wish me Happy Birthday!! =DD

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question:

When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?"

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. "I believe, that when a child like Shay, physically and mentally handicapped comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes, in the way other people treat that child."Then he told the following story:

Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked,"Do you think they'll let me play?" Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked if Shay could play, not expecting much. The boy looked around for guidance and said, "We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning."

Shay struggled over to the team's bench put on a team shirt with a broad smile and his Father had a small tear in his eye and warmth in his heart. The boys saw the father's joy at his son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even
though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible 'cause Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing the other team putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least be able to make contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over, but the pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the head of the first baseman, out of reach of all team mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, "Shay, run to first! Run to first!" Never in his life had Shay ever ran that far but made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, "Run to second, run to second!"

Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to second base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball, the smallest guy on their team, who had a chance to be the hero for his team for
the first time. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions and he too intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head. Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, "Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay"

Shay reached third base, the opposing shortstop ran to help him and turned him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third! Shay, run to third" As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams and those watching were on their feet were screaming, "Shay, run home! Shay run home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the "grand slam" and won the game for his team.

That day, said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world.

Shay didn't make it to another summer and died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his Father so happy and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

Its so encouraging whenever i receive messages like these in my email. Living in a fallen world corrupted with sin, deceit, lies, manipulation, selfishness and cruelty, i really treasure the times and moments when i can witness, see and hear for myself acts of kindness, unconditional love and acceptance taking place.

Such traits are exhibited as a by product of the fruits of the spirit. In Galatians 5:22-23 : "But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law." When i hear of such acts of kindness and all the more so if this happen to be non christian people who display and exhibit them, my heart longs to tell them that its not their true human nature being displayed. We are sinful men and women who have fallen short of the glory of the lord. Fallen short of God's glorious perfect standard. It is God who works in us and through our hearts to make the world a better place. When conflicts arises. When misunderstandings occur. When we are at the crossroads of making decisions that might tarnish the repuatation of people or reputable instituitions. Or like in the above story; to discriminate or accept.

It is not our human nature that compels us to do otherwise. For Christians, it is the holy spirit who works in our hearts to live by the truth and to abide in God's commandments. For the non Christians, Lijuan told me that they just happen to be controlled by circumstances which compels them to display such acts. Its great that they care for their fellow human beings. Extending care and concern when the need arises and choosing to put others ahead of themselves. But the question is: Who commanded us to care for our fellow human beings; or for that matter, why should we? (An excellent spiritual conversation link to the gospel)It all goes back to God; the world he fashioned and designed; the people whom he created for his pleasure.

If only people could grasp the true meaning behind the story. Or for that matter, why morals exist in society. Its not subjective as most controversial beings might think it is. Morals are objective because of a loving God. We were meant to live and abide in love. In 1 John 3:18, it talks about not loving just with words or tongue; but in ACTIONS AND TRUTH! Love originates from an all perfect God. A loving God. A God whose order and purpose in this world can never ever be wrong. God created people like Shay not by accident. God created people like him to give us a chance and an opportunity to accept someone different from an average layman person you meet everyday. He wants to give us a chance to display his love in a fresh new way. All so that we can be a blessing to others. :)

Indeed, the choices we make today have a profound impact on eternity. What would Jesus Do?

We bow our Hearts
We bend our knees
Oh Spirit come make us humble
We turn our eyes from evil things
Oh Lord we cast down our idols

So give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
And God let us be
A generation that seeks
That seeks Your face
Oh God of Jacob
And God let us be
A generation that seeks
That seeks Your face
Oh God of Jacob

We bow our Hearts
We bend our knees
Oh Spirit come make us humble
We turn our eyes from evil things
Oh Lord we cast out our idols

So give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
And God let us be

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fulness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

hey guys. oh wells. Today is a great day! at work now. Shall update a little. Woke up at 0540am this morning and met James and Uncle Taikok at Bukit Timah Hill. I was so excited about it that I actually woke up at 0430am and lie on the bed till 0540 cos' I daren't sleep in fear that I might overslept. Just singing songs on bed. hehe. Well, James picked me up and we went to meet Uncle Taikok. The sky was still dark. Uncle Taikok was already standing at the starting point waiting for our arrival. And as soon as we came up to him and he led me up the hill. In the beginning was super super steep. It's like you walk up the hill with your body leaning to the front close to 80 degree and you can feel the gravity. And while James and I were already panting about 40 seconds after starting, Uncle Taikok said, 'This is an easy walk up, there are more ahead.' We were like, 'oh man.' And he walked very fast. On the way up, he encouraged me to take up Nursing course cos' of the demand in the world now due to ageing population. Not just in Singapore alone but other parts of the world as well. Talked about how MANY the job opportunities as a nurse. I was amazed. But the thing that I'm more interested in is, how being a nurse can help in evangelism and in ministry and I tell you, this is really a great way of sharing Christ. I'm looking forward to that even now that i've not started. And through what Uncle taikok said, I'm much more confident and ready to be used by God in various ways and to glorify Him in everything I do as well as to fulfil the Great Commission. Then we came down the hill, talked about how the words 'church' and 'temple' were being used in the bible. At least I learnt something. Then we went to Bukit Timah Market to have breakfast where Uncle taikok treated. Uncle Taikok is really the MAN! He got us the food and then went to the market area to buy grocery. This is really what a GOOD GOOD GOOD man should do instead of the wife doing it and I am really amazed at his humility, a God-fearing man he is. Praise God for Him. Alight better get back to work.

I just want to give thanks to God for all He've done for me. Thank You God. This is an old hymn. The song is very energetic and nice. Lyrics are meaningful and heart felt. I've got the song attached. So you can just click on the attachment and download it. To God be the glory!

Jehovah Jireh my provider
His grace is sufficient for me
For me, for me
Jehovah Jireh my provider
His grace is sufficient for me

The Lord shall provide all my needs
According to His riches in Glory
The Lord shall provide Himself a lamb for sacrifice
Jehovah Jireh takes care of me
Of me, of me

Jehovah Jireh my provider
His grace is sufficient for me
For me, for me
Jehovah Jireh my provider
His grace is sufficient for me

The Lord shall provide all my needs
According to His riches in Glory
The Lord shall provide Himself a lamb for sacrifice
Jehovah Jireh takes care of me
Of me, of me

YES. I'm, again, talking about mission. When I was young (not that i'm old now), I dreamt and aspire of being a missionary my whole life, in short, a full-time missionary. Probably because of the sponsored expenses, air tickets, and having to travel around. But when I grow older, I began to know that it' not easy to become a missionary, especially a full time one. There are many many things to be put in consideration. Things like your job, your dreams, material possessions, family, etc. There are too may things that you have to give up. There’re many things and situations that you will have to adapt especially if you wish to settle down in a certain place and start a ministry there. If it's a foreign country, you will have to start learning the language. And this alone isn’t easy. To come to think that you have to speak to people everyday in your life using a new language, this isn’t easy at all.

If you are thinking of going for a mission trip when your mind is thinking of having fun and for traveling purposes, then I tell you, forget about it! This is no longer a mission trip but a holiday or a vacation. We have to go with a purpose and go for a purpose. Before we consider the Great Commission, which many are very familiar with, let us look at 1 Corinthians 9:20, 22-23 (Please click on the verse to read the verses). It says many things we have to adapt to and, perhaps to give up. Some of these things may be precious to us, some may not. Things like family and etc are precious to us. Of course, we are not leaving them for good, but, even for a short term, it is a misery for some, then what about leaving for a full-time missionary/ ministry.

To end off this short entry, I urge brothers and sisters in Christ to be mindful of your thoughts and character towards going for a mission trip, be it a short or long trip. Be it for a week or a year or even a lifetime. Be mentally and spiritually prepared for it. Because, what we are doing is for God and not for ourselves. To win lost souls for God and not for ourselves.

Therefore, GO with a purpose! God bless you!

for everyone

Recently, I visited Evan's blog and found something so meaningful and interesting. Something for us to ponder upon. The birthverse. It's truely cool and amazing. And really hard work for the birthverse team. Praise God for them. Anyway, this is my birthverse. My birthday is 25 June by the way.

Matthew 6:25 NIV
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

You are a child of God, His treasured possession. He created you in His own image. He chose the day for you to be born. He has a plan and a purpose for your life. Cherish your birthverse.

BIRTHVERSE consists of 366 verses chosen from the 66 books of the Bible. Each verse correlates the chapter and verse with its month and day.

Indeed, thank God for creating me. Thank You for treasuring me. These few months has been tough. And it is God who really hold me on and push me through the difficult times. It is through the power of the Holy Spirit. Really appreciated that Father. This verse means alot to me. It means a lot of things. It means that God, the King of kings and Lord of lords actually sent His son to die for an unworthy person like me. It was so incredible and amazing and yet it's true. You got to believe in this. Help me to stay in Your image. Help me to be humble Lord. Help me to manage and prioritise all that I do. Use me to do Your will oh Lord. Help me to treasure what You've given me and make me be contented with what I have now and what you will be giving me in future. I thank You Lord for those things. Be it be material possessions or good results or good friends, etc. I want to thank You for them. But above all, I thank You for dying for me, a sinner. Thank You Jesus.
